These 3 simple steps will keep every bedroom in your home organized and create a restful environment.
Bedrooms tend to be a dumping ground for clutter because it’s hidden away which distracts from rest and makes simple tasks like getting dressed take more time. Here are 3 simple steps to an organized bedroom:
- Own only what will fit in your closet and dresser drawers. Work with the space you have. If when everything is clean, you don’t have space to neatly store your clothing, it’s time to go through and get rid of some of your clothes or box up out of season clothing to be stored in another location.
- The floor is not an option. Absolutely nothing should be on the floor except for the legs of the furniture. This includes the floor of the closet. When you get done wearing something it either gets rehung, folded and put in a drawer or put in the hamper to be laundered.
- Keep surfaces clear of clutter. Clutter-free surfaces promote a space that promotes relaxation and sleep. If you must have a desk in your bedroom, make sure it is left neat and tidy at the end of the day. You might even rethink having a television in this room as TV’s distract from relaxation.
Following these 3 simple steps to an organized bedroom can ensure a good night’s sleep and decrease stress when getting ready for your day.
